Mr Yanbao Ma received the M.S. degree from Institute of Mechanics, Chinese
Academy of Sciences (CAS), Beijing, P.R. China, in 1997, and B. S. degree
from University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, P.R.China in 1994.
He has been a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering Department at the
University of California, Los Angeles, since 1997. In his doctoral research,
he found receptivity mechanisms of supersonic boundary-layer flow to free-stream
disturbances by using direct numerical simulation and linear stability analysis,
which is critical for accurate predication of transition of supersonic or
hypersonic vehicles.
He jointed Micro Systems Laboratories of UCLA and worked on micro-fluidic
biological sample preparation system in 2003.
